French Model 1837 Naval Pistol

F1199. here is a beautiful weapon, a French Model 1837 Naval pistol in excellent condition, the metal is free of any pitting and retains it's original bright finish, the barrel breech is stamped M 4, 1837, the back action lock has clear markings, all of the metal parts have inspection marks including an anchor on the butt cap, the brass furniture is a pleasing contrast to the bright finish, the left side has a belt hanger, the stock is also in outstanding condition with a pleasing honey appearance, the only flaw is the shackle on the ram rod is MIA, these were awkward to use and I expect it was intentionally removed, the action is crisp and functions perfectly, wonderful early pistol that will stand tall in any collection
