DC588. the Confederacy had some beautiful buttons, and in my opinion, this is one of the most attractive, a rare, non-dug CS1 army officer's, it is a large, 26mm, button featuring the classic Confederate droop wing eagle with a shield with C.S.A. at the top, the eagle is clutching three arrows in one talon and a laurel branch in the other, surrounded by eleven, six pointed stars, on a lined field, it retains nearly 100% of it's original gold gilt, the reverse has a strong S. BUCKLEY & CO. BIRMINGHAM back mark and a straight shank, fabulous button
